George Washington

• Washington abused legal loopholes to bypass Pennsylvania's law that demanded slaves be released after residing in PA for 6 months.
• Ordered his soldiers to engage in the "total destruction and devastation of [Iroquois] settlements and the capture of as many prisoners of every age and sex as possible," and to "ruin their crops now in the ground and prevent their planting more."
